Changes to club walks from 19th July

Important changes to club walks from 19th July 2021 – please read

Following changes in government guidance and analysis of our recent welcome back walks, the committee have met and agreed we consider returning to our pre covid organisation.

These changes will take effect from:- 19th July

  • No need to book a place on a walk

  • Walkers to meet centrally in Darlington instead of going straight to the walk start.  This allows for car sharing and reduces the need for extra car parking spaces at the start of the walk and it’s good for the environment!  (NB Whilst the club encourages car sharing, there will still be the provision for members to contact the leader in advance to advise they wish to meet the rest of the group at the start of the walk rather than meet at the central location).

Central meet up locations will return to pre covid locations of:-

Saturday walks –  ED Walker homes with parking on Coniscliffe Road for 9:15am

Sunday walks – Vane Terrace – outside what was the old Arts Centre for 9:15am

Midweek walks – ED Walker homes with parking on Coniscliffe Road for 10:00am

(Occasionally we meet a little earlier on a Sunday.  Please always check the on-line walk programme prior to attending any walk to ensure the correct start time and to check for any last minute changes to walks.  NB: You do not need to be logged in as a member to check for any changes as this can be viewed via “programme” located on the tool bar on our home page).

Leaders wanted –  If you are interested in leading a Saturday, Sunday or midweek walk, please contact either Marg or Elaine.   The club currently has leaders and walks planned up to the end of September 2021 which will be showing on our programme soon.
