Leader : Steve Distance : 11.5 miles
8 people including Steve met at Lord Stones cafe and after looking at the prehistoric carvings on one of the stones that the Cafe is named after we moved on. Heading south past Carlton Bank Gliding Club (disused) onto Bilsdale West Moor and Barker’s Ridge where 11’s were taken. Lunch was taken in the mild sunshine with the new Bilsdale madt just in view.
Afterwards we headed N.E. past Cock Howe and dropped into Chop Gate. Steve blocked the doorway into The Buck Inn so no refreshments were taken there. It was a steady ascent for an hour in bright sunshine now over Cold Moor to reach the C.W. Turning W. Everyone except Mr Holmes used the shoulder of Kirby Hill back to the start, he ascended its summit and met us at the cafe.
Drinks were taken at the pub in Carlton. A good workout for the Scottish Mac Adventure. Thanks for the company
