2022_01_02 Hamsterley Village Circular

Leader : Marg          Distance : 10 miles

13 of us set off from the village taking the path north to Howlea Bridge,  Howlea Lane and the path to meet The Weradale Way. We followed the WW through Black Bank plantation and found some logs as perfect seats for our coffee stop. We continued on the WW alongside the river leaving it for a short climb then taking the path south passing Wiserley Hall. We carried on stopping Crowsfield one of the old farm houses in the area for lunch. after lunch we made our way to the Trig Point on Knitsley Fell. We left the Trig Point and made our way back to Howlea Lane and back to Hamsterley.

We finished the day with a drink in the beer garden of The Cross Keys.                                                                                It was lovely to see Emmie out on her first Sunday walk
