Lovely to have travelled a little further afield today to an area which is officially known as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it did not disappoint.

A fair and warm day for a walk from the pretty village of Hovingham on the edge of the Howardian Hills. Views from the 3km long, 100m high soil ridge of Caukleys Bank were clear and far reaching..

Tracks, field paths and quiet roads provided the walk ways for todays’ route.   Lunch was enjoyed in the grounds of Stonegrave Minster. With an interesting history going back to 757AD, it’s well worth a visit.  Sadly the doors were closed to us today so we were unable to enjoy the many beautiful carvings and windows inside.

Post walk drinks in the Worsley Arms Hotel were much enjoyed after our warm trek today where we were joined by David and Ian.
