Jan’s CV Forum Tuesday 11th August.
Having lost track of the actual week since lockdown, I shall be posting fairly regularly but perhaps not weekly from now on.
I’m pleased to report that the gremlins have been removed from the website and Ian Nelson is managing to keep them at bay for the present. So I shall be using the stop press once again as the main means of communication with a few emails and letters here and there.
Some of you, who are in the Ramblers also, will know that groups of up to 30 are being allowed on walks should they choose to do so. There’s the rub: the feedback I am getting is that members who wish to walk are happy to continue in small informal groups and more importantly, the leaders are also. Understandably, there is a concern that we are not out of the woods yet as far as the pandemic is concerned and although we will discuss the situation again at our meeting in September, until then, there will continue to be no formally arranged club walks.
Another major difficulty we have is the parking required for an increased number of vehicles and until we are able to car share once more, that will be an issue. Sadly it is also prevents the car free among us from expanding their opportunities also. However, this situation won’t last forever and we look forward to queuing for our vaccinations.
George and I had a lovely break in Arnside with the family last week and self catering was a comfortable option. We enjoyed the company and the walking and cycling in a lovely area which wasn’t overly busy. We’re off to explore the Lincolnshire wolds later this month and then we will keep our fingers crossed for a club weekend to Coniston in October.
We found that businesses, including HF are really pulling out the stops to help keep customers safe and feeling confident and it is good if we can support them.
A little goat told me that Dave and Angela have the first of their goats milk icecream for sale in Campbells in Leyburn. Now there is a small business worth supporting!
Hoping everyone is happy and well
