Michael Reports –

Our group of 12 set off from Leyburn along Low Wood Lane and across the fields passing through Old Glebe Nature Reserve which is a traditional hay meadow with an array of wild flowers. We reached the village of Wensley with it’s unspoilt cottages and beautiful church where we found a pleasant place on the village green for morning coffee.

We then crossed the bridge and walked along the south side of the River Ure to the lovely Middleham Bridge. Then heading over fields towards Harmby we found a convenient place to stop for lunch.

Passing through Harmby we stopped off to view the waterfall which was in full flow following following the recent rain.

It was then a gentle climb along the road to Cow Close Farm with fine views over Wensleydale and then back over field paths to Leyburn.
