Marg reports :-
While many parts of the country were experiencing awful storms and flooding we were very lucky that our walk was able to go ahead
9 of us set off from Richmond heading north over the fields and onto the old race course, then west over the gallops towards High Coalgarth.
A little further on we had to cross Aske Beck by climbing over the fence as the stepping stones were now submerged as a result of Wednesdays snow melting
We then made our way west passing Jockey Cap, through Gilling Wood to the church in Gilling West where we had lunch in the church porch
From Gilling it was a short way on the road then over the fields passing through the parkland and the Grade 1 listed building Aske Hall. From there it was over the golf course, across the road to retrace our steps back to Richmond
We finished off with a drink in The Ralph Fitz Randal
