Ann reports :-
A beautiful frosty, sunny morning with 6 walkers in total. Parked at Newsham village hall and headed out of village and North Yorkshire to cross county border into County Durham through the village of Barningham. Route heads north on quiet roads, through woods and fields to visit the tiny hamlet of Greta Bridge, shortly followed by arriving at Mortham Tower, a medieval fortified house standing in beautiful grounds. Route then followed part of the Teasdale Way through fields to arrive at the River Tees at the former Lido of Whorlton where we stopped for lunch. Lovely riverside walking the route passed through the hamlet of Wycliffe, through the churchyard and following a nice wooded walk, finally crossing the A66 before road walking back to the village of Newsham.
10 miles in total.
