Michael reports :-

The route of todays walk was changed because of the high volume of water in the streams which would have had to be forded so we didn’t go to Barden.

13 of us set off from Leyburn on a pleasant Autumn morning and although it was a bit damp underfoot the rain held off and we enjoyed some pleasant sunshine. As we headed out of Leyburn towards Harmby we had fine views of Penn Hill and Middleham. We arrived at Harmby to find the waterfall in full flow and looking spectacular. We then headed up the hill to Harmby Moor where a couple of uprooted trees provided a good place to sit and eat lunch. Continuing on our walk we passed through the pretty village of Bellerby with it’s pretty little church and fine houses. When we arrived at Manor House Farm we stopped to look at Ebenezer, which is a commemorative stone built by a dry stone walling association. When Kate saw a reference to Scrooge on the plaque she immediately suggested that Nigel and Chris pose for a photo with Enenezer.( I can’t think why) It was then a mainly downhill walk back to Leyburn where we rounded off the day with a well earned drink in the Kings Head.
