Marg reports :-
4 of us left Darlington in the rain which continued throughout the day. We left Richmond Market Place and headed down to the waterfall where we were greeted by a raging River Swale and Waterfall. You couldn’t see any of the rocks! It was worth coming to Richmond just to see this.
We continued to follow the river, crossed over Richmond Bridge then up through the woods. We made our way down the steps to the river again only to climb back up as the lower path was completely submerged.
We continued on to Round Howe crossed the river and the road then our way across the fields to Applegarth. We then headed West on a small stretch of the C2C route where we met a couple of Australian girls on their Reeth to Richmond leg. They were very jolly considering the awful weather.
We continued to the road then on to Deepdale and back to Richmond via Willances Leap
We finished off in the dry and warm Town Hall Pub
