Jan reports :-
An improvement in the weather saw a good turn out of 18 members for the Masham circular today. We left the market town past the famous Theakston brewery and headed across field paths towards the golf course and had elevenses beneath the copper beech tree planted, by the club, in memory of Bob Thompson.
Heading toward Swinton Park, we left the road southward toward Nutwith Common and up through the woods. We eventually descended into the lovely Hackworth woods now looked after by the Woodland Trust. We took in follies and grottoes and lunched by the pond. Afterwards we began the return to Masham along the banks of the river Ure, via a section of the Ripon Rowel Walk.
