Michael reports :-
When we got out of the cars at Tan Hill there was a cool breeze and most of us donned our fleeces. We headed off along the Pennine Way and soon stopped for morning coffee on Stonesdale Moor. The weather was warming up and off came the fleeces. Continuing along the path we had fine views of West Stonesdale before descending to Keld. Lunch was taken near a waterfall were we ate our sandwiches and the midges ate us. Lunch was shared with a black Labrador which appeared and decided to join us. We then headed through the pretty village where our doggy friend decided to leave us – it probably lived there! Following the Coast to Coast path we arrived at Ravenseat where we took the uphill path past Roberts Seat and Thomas Gill Rigg to return to Tan Hill. Of course refreshments had to be taken at the highest pub in Britain – The Tan Hill Inn.
