Elaine reports :-

8 walkers took a chance on a poor forecast and headed up to Weardale.  Yes, it was a little wet but without the rain we’d never have had such dramatic waterfalls en route through the woods.

Due to the high and fast running water we were unable to cross the river at our usual spot.  An interesting mile or so diversion was found which involved clambering over a few fences. Those who were good at the floor game “twister” fared better over the obstacles and good team working for the rest meant we got through relatively unscathed!

Some lovely views throughout the day and as the rain tailed off we had a dry ending to our walk.  Post walk drink was had in the Black Bull, Wolsingham.
