Marg reports :-
12 of us left a very wet and sleety Darlington to arrive at a very dry and bright Romaldkirk.
We set off along the old railway track leaving it just before the river Balder to make our way over the fields to Cotherstone.
Passing The Butter Stone en-route (a market point during the Great Plague) .
We had lunch on the green in the sunshine
From Cotherstone we headed a short way along the Barnard Castle Road then turned off along mire lane to follow The Teesdale Way and field paths back to Romaldkirk.
We finished with a drink in The Kirk Inn which also serves as The Post Office.
